In case you haven't seen it yet, Apple has announced the G5 on their web site. $3000 gets you a dual 2Ghz with 1Ghz frontside bus, 512 MB of RAM expandable to 8GB! So for the cost of JavaOne (including plane tickets and hotel) you can get this monster Mac. ;-)

Also new is the public beta release of IChat AV. I played around with it today hooking up with my brother who is in Portland (whereas I am in Florida) and we had a nice conversation. I even played a bit of piano for him. iChatAV is really well done as far as I am concerned - there wasn't even a setup process - people with iChatAV installed appear in your list with a phone icon. Click it and you can start talking. Trés cool.
