I just got back from NYC where I gave a presentation to the NY Smalltalk Users Group on ElastoLab. It was a small group but I very much enjoyed giving the presentation. I received many suggestions on how I could market or promote ElastoLab. Sadly, I have to consider ElastoLab to be a dead product at this time. I simply can't spend more time on it on the speculation that it may bring in money some day. It was a fun project and I'm proud of what I accomplished with it, but it was not a commercial success.

The main problem with ElastoLab was that it tried to offer tools to be creative without leading very much. When you launch it, you are presented with a white window surrounded by too many buttons and you wonder "what do I do now?" When no ideas come within the first 10 seconds, you just quit.

There are many ways I could restructure the product, but I've just run out of time and energy for it. I may resurrect the code but in a different form and much later. For now, I have other things I have to work on.
