Troy points to an example of Cincom eating its own dogfood - he's on a project for a customer in Europe, and he's using both Socrates and Cincom Smalltalk:

I've had the basics of this working for a while, and put a very simple communications class up on the Cincom public repository in the package SocratesCommunicator. It still needs updated documentation, but it should be obvious how to use it.
