The 2004 MLB season is off to a roaring start, as the Oakland A's beat the Texas Rangers in dramatic fashion, 5-4.

The A's are counting on Jermaine Dye to come back from his injury-plagued 2003 season, and he delivered with a double and 2 RBIs. But, it was backup outfielder Eric Byrnes who delivered the winning runs with a pinch-hit 2-out, 2-RBI double in the bottom of the 8th inning. Newly-signed closer Arthur Rhodes got his 1st save as an Athletic.

Let's hope this is the beginning of a magical 2004 season, ending with a World Series victory!
