"We are bullish on the Itanium 2 processor's performance and price advantage versus proprietary offerings," Lisa Graff, director of Intel's Itanium Group, said in a statement announcing the challenge program.

I don't recall ever hearing anyone claim they were “bullish” about their own product; that's usually left to the analysts for when they actually understand a concept or technology.  Good for her.
