How to solve problem with the Samsung Focus not able to recognize the extra MicroSD Memory Card.

AT&T has alerted that by installing the microSD expansion card your device will an issue with the storage space. A lot of people has faced this issue when they resetted their device and find that they only ave around 15MB. some people has found that by doing the following they can actually get the full memory capacity of the MicroSD memory card. If you are having this problem then you could try this:

Solutions 1

1.  First pull out the SD card.

2. Then perform a soft reset. At this point you should see you have 15.7MB. For a soft reset instruction read this article

3. Now perform a hard reset of the device using the three keys combo. Camera button + Volume Down + Power button. For a hard reset instruction read this article.

4. Now re-inserted the SD card and perform another software format.

Now you can check and see if you get the full storage capacity.

 

Solution 2

1. Perform a hard reset of the device using the three keys combo. Camera button + Volume Down + Power button. For a hard reset instruction read this article.

2. If you are stuck with the Download screen, then you can pull out the battery and wait for a couple of minutes, then put it back it.

3. Power up the phone. Now do a software reset. Go to the Home screen then > Settings > About > Reset your phone.

4. Now check your memory and see if you got the expected full capacity.

 

If the above solution does not work, then it's worth while that you check if you have a compatible micro SD card. Microsoft has state that you will need a compatible card for it to work. See SD Cards and my Phone.
