Fuji is releasing a 20 (Yes, twenty) Megapixel camera in Japan soon. I'll take two. Wait... they are $22,000 each, maybe one will do.
The camera uses a SuperCCD which is a newfangled honeycombed CCD that is reported to have a max resulution of 7648 x 5408 (41.36 million pixels). I don't really understand why it is called a 20MP camera then, but when it comes down to it I am a photo idiot.
So let me have fun with the numbers for a second. Even at 20MP (Lets say that is 5163 x 3870 (Assuming my extra ghetto math skills still work)) this camera can make some large prints. If you print at 300dpi that piece of paper you are using better be almost a foot and a half wide.
