Yesterday I finally got around to purchasing a new digital camera. I ended up getting a Sony "rootkit" Cybershot W7. This replaces my several year old Canon Powershot A50, which appears to have died. I think I bought it in 1998 or 1999. Wow, what a difference a few years can make, eh? The old Canon was 1.3 megapixel and had few features. My new one is 7.2, and has many more features, has USB 2 support, can actually film movies (!) and is smaller and lighter to boot. Plus, it uses rechargeable AA batteries, instead of the lithium 2CR5's, which were expensive.

There were so many features, in fact, that I actually sat through the how-to tutorial that came with the CD. Very professionally done, too, I might add. Anyway, I'm happy with my new toy...until I need another new toy.
