PalmOS is moving more towards J2ME with their move towards using IBM's WBE on their Tungsten line of PDAs according to ebizQ article. IBM will be updating their WBE for MIDP2.0 for inclusion in Tungsten PDAs along with releasing a standalone tool for WBE development that plugins into most IDEs.

The big additon is the existence of MIDP2.0 NG extensions in the new WBE to provide the same level of provisioning in PalmOS PDAs as other MIDP2.0 handset devices. Of course IBM is also including a beta implementation of SyncML/DM.
