I figured out a work around for the null microedition.platform string on some vendors devices. Lets recap work arounds thus far already in use.

For both FPS setting and ui wrapper pointing for cloase dapis in MIDP1.0 devices I am using the setting manually per build for each device series. However, what happens to FPS setting when we use MIDP2.0 in which we will not be using any closed apis?

The basic work around for setting FPS for graphical games in MIDP2.0 is to make the splash screen dual purpose in that it will do a basic test draw on screen to compute FPS of the device and then auto set FPS of the game and store the FSP of device in RMS. Thus, only the code needs to be compact enough for the low end devices using MIDP2.0.
