When we got home from a short trip to Coronado Island we saw quite a few fire trucks between the I5 freeway and our home - not to speak of the two red-white helicopters circling kind-of low over that area.
After pulling into the driveway we saw that there had been a fire in the canyon behind my neighbors house.
The fire broke out about 2 p.m. and some homes on the canyon rim were threatened for a time, but by 3:15 p.m. the danger to homes seemed to be over. Thanks to the firefighters from Carlsbad, Rancho Santa Fe, Encinitas, Vista, San Marcos and Oceanside!
