  • Pixelpipe's New Uploader is a Must-Have for Firefox Users
This new utility is just another reminder of how desktop software tools are slowly being replaced by browser-based services. Who needs the Flickr uploader anymore when you can drag photos to your browser and send them directly to Flickr, Facebook, and a slew of other sites with only a click or two?
  • Mark Finkle’s Weblog » Day Dreaming about Web Storage
"Document and relational storage each has it’s own pros & cons. I’d like to see more discussion about the pros & cons, about performance and about what parts of the storage mechanism browser vendors should be focusing on to make JavaScript storage libraries performant. I’d like to see less bikeshedding on JavaScript storage APIs. I’d really love to see less talk of putting features in a specification that should be in a JavaScript library."
  • Google Code Blog: Mercurial support for Project Hosting on Google Code
Woohoo, Mercurial support in Google Code. Awesome stuff. Tempted to setup a Bespin mirror to try it all out :)
  • TypeRacer
Test your typing speed and accuracy. Fun indeed!
  • SproutCore 1.0 Update: Repo is now public
A few weeks ago we quietly made the SproutCore 1.0 alpha public on our github repository. The response from those few brave souls who’ve been willing to test it has been very positive. Most of the new features are there and major rework is complete. There are lots of bugs, as you might expect from an alpha release. We also have a few classes (in particular SC.CollectionView) that aren’t yet hardened enough for everyday use.
  • What happens to OpenJDK?
    Ah Geir.....
  • function.displayName now in WebKit via Changeset 42478
"This change adds the displayName property to functions, which when set overrides the normal name when appearing in the console."
  • Paul O'Shannessy: Undo Close Window Has Landed!
"I’m happy to announce the landing of Undo Close Window. This adds a menu & keyboard shortcut for reopening your previously closed windows. By default we store 3 windows (though sometimes more due to special cases involving pop-up windows). I’m not going to go into further implementation details (because really, I know you don’t care), but if you’re interested, you can take a look at the patches on the bug."
