MuleCon

Yesterday afternoon I got into San Francisco for MuleCon 2008. Though I missed most of the first day, I managed to catch the cocktail reception and meet some folks face-to-face, like ESBery super-star Eugene Ciurana, CohesiveFT’s Alexis Richardson and, of course, MuleSource’s Dave Rosenberg.

Cocktails are usually of nothing of tech substances, or completely off the record (my personal policy is that once booze is served, everything is under booze-DA), so I have nothing Mule-y to report.

However, there are some odd sightings so far. First:

Potato Dress

On the way to the bar after eating at House of Nanking, one of my friends spotted this “Potato Dress” in a window. It seems like it’d be good for hiding out in cellars. No to leave the pantsless man-set out, there was also the so called “Wood Shirt.”

Knowing Dave’s weakness when it comes to muffins, I’ve been eager to see The Muffin Man in action. Your correspondent, dear readers, was blessed with a particularly unique set of muffins with which to observe The Muffin Man in action, the so called “Muffin Loafs”:

Dave Considers the Muffin Loafs

See a close-up for more details. Dave has some more qualitative commentary as well.

Later today I’ll be moderating two panels: one on general trends and the haps in enterprise infrastructure and middleware, the other on Mule-based SOAs. It should be jim-dandy fun.

Disclaimer: MuleSource is a client.
