Feed Description: Marc's thoughts on Java and more
8 years ago i got an offer from a big IBM afiliated company from CA, USA. It was in the valley area and all in all it was an exciting offer. Back then i didnt accepted the offer because i met my current girlfriend, so a very unpleasant time to change the country. But since that time i am constantly thinking of working in the USA, at least for a year or two.
But why do i want that? There are no economic reasons, i never had any problems finding good jobs. Its also not only because of the technology, because i dont think germany is behind the US in that regard. I think its mainly because of the language and the people. I allways dreamed of speaking fluent english (which is just not manageable when being in germany) and i like the way of life in the states. Unfortuntely, at this very moment its nearly impossible to check for opportunities because i am trying to get a product in the market here. There are also existing customers where i have to provide support for. So i dont know if i will manage it anytime soon to really execute my todo but if it happens, i will blog about it and would be happy to hear about opportunities. There would be some requirements like "no banks" or "no detroit" but thats a different story :)
