I have been searching for J2ME book that has different focus other than just handsets and PDAs. I found a book that is being composed online before it gets published by CMP, called Practical Embedded Java. To give an idea of what I am looking for view this benchmark which is part of the book.

To not only build the J2ME 3D game engine in the next year but also a good Business App framework for J2ME I am going to have to get down to the CVM or KVM level of understanding code structure choices on performance and etc. Thus, what I am really looking for is a good book on the study of CVM and KVM implementations in J2ME and this book is the closest one I have found for that purpose.

The bad thing is you cannot pull up the chapters online, gives resource not found errors. Damn it! Well maybe its published by now or coming soon.
