At the moment I'm starting the work on a bigger project wich will need a rather large db. Because we wanted to make it system independent I wanted to use CloudScape, until I found out that the latest version is more than a year old, this usually means, the program is dead. Now I'm looking for a new system. It should handle a 100k Recordsets in a short time. Of course Oracle and other dbms like that would do the job, but as far as I know, they're rather expensive.
