Javascript and Java

If my memory serves me correctly. Javascript was designed by netscape. It was originally called 'livewire'. Some say the name was changed to 'Javascript' to boost its visibility in the market and ride the 'java wagon'.

Java was developed by sun. Around '94 (i think). I was originally planned to be a appliance language.. you know for vcrs and toasters. When the net took off sun realized the perfect opportunity for java and the rest is history.

kinda brief but i think that should give u enough information to continue ur research.
