how to connect jdbc on solaris with oracle as database

hi

we are having trouble in jdbc connectivity with applet.i have 2 queries.
1) is appletviewer compatible to jdbc connectivity.we are differene t applets to retrieve data fro the database .we are finding it difficult using jdbc.

please let me know what is the method to implement it.

i will be very happy if u can help me out as early as possible.
