what's different by the import?

Hi,all

Is there any can answer the simple question for me?

What's difference for the follow? I read some of the program written by java. from the import part, like:

import java.awt.*;
import java.awt.event.*;

why cannot use just one:
import java.awt.*
to instead of above two sentence?
