MultiPlatform access to an MS-ACCESS database?

Hi

I am a new in DB prgramming and I shuld use
some access databases using java, so it must
run over any platform (as Ms-Win, Unix, Linux,...)
Is it possible? How??

If it is not OK, is there any other way
to make a multi platform database and use
it via Java.
