How to read a directory. Please help!!!

I want to read a directory but I have no idea how to go about it. The
directories are as follows:

c:\Cms\Modem\1\Daily....

c:\Cms\Modem\2\Daily....

c:\Cms\Modem\3\Daily....

c:\Cms\Modem\4\Daily....

c:\Cms\Modem\5\Daily....

c:\Cms\Modem\6\Daily....

Under Daily there are a number of files. Now my objection is to find
out if there's any information in those files by checking the number
of bytes for Daily directory.

Please help. Still a novice.
