Can I determine the browser used?

Thanks, but can I determine the browser used since I have to use a seperate tag for IE and for Netscape?

> You can do what you want thru applets. But it is not practical because all your customer won't be willing to give all permissions to your applet on their computer. There are two ways to do it.
> 1. All clients who are using your applets can give requite permission in java security files. This involves clients changing java security files. If they are not a programmer or they don't know about java security setting then it is not a practical solution.
> 2. You can use a signed applet and if your clients just accepts your signed applet then the applet will run just as a local java application and it will have all permissions. This is easy solution and it involves clients' interaction only once when your applet is loaded for the first time.

> All your J... controls in applet will work just as they work in a java application. The only thing you have to remember is that you must use OBJECT tag for IE and EMBED tag for netscape to display the applet in browser. If you use old applet tag then J.. controls won't be displayed. It is so because only java v1.1 is supported in IE ( I don't know about netscape) and J... controls are in java v1.2 onwards.
