> what is the difference between win98,win200 and xp There is no difference from the point of view of a Java program. Of course, there are too many differences to list, from a comprehensive perspective. What, in particular are you concerned about? UI differences, driver model differences, threading differences, etc.? Roughly, Win98 comes from the Win95 core, Win200 comes from the NT core and XP is based on the NT/Win2000 core, but has a lot of the Win95 stuff worked into it as well. - Matt
