domain / site problems

I have now signed up and paid for a web site at yahoo geocities twice. and one week later the name is still net registered and the site is not accessable. Does Geocities actually work? or are yahoo just pretending they can host a web site.
Someone can help me by letting me know the telephone numbers of the UK yahoo offices, so I can put a voice to this problem.
