What does JAVA.EXE do?

Hello there,

I am currently doing an implementation of a solution that requires the usage of IBM WebSphere, in which it uses Java.

My question is that I have found that in my machine, there are two instantces of JAVA.EXE running, with each of them taking up around 50MB of my memory. That is alot of memory to be allocated. So I was wandering if anyone knew what it is used for. Trying to figure out why they need two JAVA.exe ...
