Simple, Java isnt't a 100% pure OO language. I dont think that any language really is. Smalltalk comes close though, perhaps ....... Anyway, Java uses most of the core OO principles that we all know and love, as well as adding a few "features" like primitive data types and static references, etc. Regards, Jody
