Need to transfer a sent of files

Can anyone help me or point me in a direction where I can get some help creating a JAVA application that will run on a UNIX server connect to a NT server and retrieve a set of files on the NT server and move them to the UNIX server. Not sure if this is TSP/IP or Socket. HELP
