Problem in internet explorer

We have developed a multilingual chat system which is working fine in netscape and not satisfactorily functioning on Internet Explorer.
I have used gif files as the languages and encoded them and mapped them with the English language and the problem arises when the images are encoded in Internet Explorer. the chat is put up on
