How to Change Classpath at runtime ?

I am trying to change the system property "java.class.path". Though i am successfull doing that, but stilli cant access the classes that are there in new classpath.
Is there any way to update the VM's classpath so that i could load a class that is not present in the previous classpath and is present in new classpath.
I'd appreciate any help in this regard.
