Notice I didn't say hard, I said complex. Installing PHP is a long and tedious process if you do it right. There was a comment on slashdot today about PHP's installation being difficult. There were several responses about how installing PHP is really east, just use emerge, apt, [insert linux package management system here]. That is true if you are playing with PHP or installing phpMyAdmin, but not if you really want to use it in a production environment.
