I have written a nice little shell script that allows you to send email blasts quickly using qmail. I have named it "Master Blaster", which I think was a Transformer toy in the 1980's. The code will be released/maintained at SourceForge (project page pending). By raising the concurrency parameter you increase the speed of the mailing. I haven't tested it on a really large mailing yet, but when I do I will post real-world performance numbers.
