I'm currently writing in the new and improved posting tool for Bottom Feeder. At this stage, it's an Alpha or Beta (take your fancy) and I don't know what sorts of issues will pop up in the next few weeks. I just found one - hitting tab to move between fields didn't work as expected.

What am I talking about? I've just added the WithStyle Editing capabilities to the Blog Posting Tool. This basically means WYSIWYG XHTML editing in a cut down form so that it's nice and usable. Look and Feel is provided by CSS and since these things get 'posted' in to a blog, they are actually XHTML fragments instead of a full XHTML document.

This basically means there is no <head> tag or <body> tag or even a <html> tag, the whole document starts in <div> in the XHTML 1.0 namespace. And off it goes from there. It uses XML-Schema to let you right click anywhere in the document and change attributes/add attributes/add new elements to the document. But never fear, you won't see IMG in the menus, you'll see a nice english Image in the menus thanks to XML Translations which are also used.

This editor is hard coded to use XHTML Fragments, but XML WithStyle, our editing product on the fast track toward a 1.0 release allows you to WYSIWYG edit any kind of XML. It even lets you WYSIWYG XSLT the XML in to a form that is very close to your actual publishing look and feel - such as your website or how you want your brochure to look etc.

Expect to see this version of the Posting Tool appear in Bottom Feeder very soon!
