Scoble has a post on MS and the whole tv/video area, where he makes this comment:
But, personally, he's right. We haven't figured it out yet. I still love my Tivo (which runs on Linux ). When I unplug my Tivo, you can bet that we're getting it.
If they do get it, I sure hope it's not in the same way that the new owners of ReplayTV 'got it' - by dropping feeatures that torque off the MPAA. The commercial skip feature was probably the reason we bought a replay instead of a Tivo - and it's also the reason I won't be buying a 5500 or later. So here's a consumer tip for Scoble - tell anyone at MS working in this area to support actual end users instead of the losers at the MPAA
