My original post on this subect got a little feedback through different channels, and even a conciliatory remark from James Robertson himself!

I thought I'd give an update on the subject. I've been really pleased with how responsive Cincom has been to this. Being publically hard on them at times, I'm obligated to equally publicize the good they do.

Improving

  • I cited periodic deaths as one item, and suspected deaths when drawing masks. Last night I was able to see the shell ouptut when this happened and forward it on to the guys at Cincom. I think that means those two problems were one and the same. And with the knowledge of the specific lines of code that were faililng, hopefully they can be fixed.
  • I've recieved word that the non-circular drawing thing has been fixed. Yay!

Satus Unknown

  • Haven't seen anything on returning memory to the OS.
  • Function Keys, I know they're getting beat up on this because it doesn't work under Linux either. I'm relatively confident these'll be fixed (if they're not already).

Forgot to Mention

  • One item that I missed from last time... SHIFT-TAB raises the emergency notifier. Makes it hard to back tab through dialogs
