Feed Description: Smalltalk and my misinterpretations of life
For a while now we've been drilled with the meme of "That thing is old and is being re-written" and that meme has gradually turned in to "That thing is old and is probably being re-written". So when you offer to the media stories like this, they yawn and aren't interested, because "it is probably being re-written".
That story is in german, but it says that AMD's 64bit processors, the new ones, are being manufactored in plants controlled by smalltalk.
It's amazing where Smalltalk is hiding! Come out from your quiet little corners and advertise your amazing successes. Our industry takes enough bashing, time to hear the way things can be done - real stories, real success, real programs. None of this "75% of java projects fail". I want to hear "90% of Smalltalk projects success".
