I just said good bye to Jim Robertson and Andrew McNeil. They're staying in a hotel tonight in Canberra, then heading back to Sydney and Jim is leaving the country that afternoon. He'll then travel back in time, gaining an hour by the time he lands on US soil once more.

I've only been involved with Jim's trip for the two days this week - Tuesday and Thursday but for those two days we've had a great time. I'm glad Jim has also enjoyed his trip, this will encourage him to come back to Australia when its summer time instead of winter.

It was interesting to gauge peoples reactions to different crowds for Jim's talk. I wasn't able to give my talk at CLUG this evening, as they had double booked the time slot. Perhaps a little irritating was the fact that the speaker who spoke up for the time knew before hand that he could not give the presentation of hacking his xbox that he wanted to give. Oh well, these things happen.

The different focus by some of the crowd was interesting too. On one side we have Andrew Tridgell worrying about DNS attacks on the code update mechanism in Bottom Feeder and on the other side we have project management type people thinking up ways they can integrate all this wonderful RSS stuff.

It was good to get a bit of exposure of Smalltalk in to these crowds and Andrew McNeil did his best to give people access to VisualWorks NC CD's for v7.2.1

Have a safe trip home Jim.
