According to Sun, it's not good enough. Researchers are looking for more dynamism. The failure rate for Java projects is still atrocious. Sun's researchers don't believe in the language. C# is a sideways step to the same place.... heck, we even have hard data on some of this. And yet, many analysts will still tell you that you should stay in the "mainstream" - apparently, failure is better than unpopularity if you're an analyst (I guess it's still high school prom time for them).

And developers wonder why outsourcing and offshoring are popular....
