When I started doing "Smalltalk Daily" back in 2006, I said the following:
It remains to be seen whether I manage to keep this up daily, but here's my intention: push up a brief Smalltalk screencast daily for awhile, introducing both VW and OST
Well :) Here it is a bit over 3 years and 781 screencasts later. That first one was a video done on Windows, saved as a wmv file. I switched over to Wink, which allowed for "stop motion" screencasts. It was a pretty good tool, but there was no covenient way to take the outputs and share them with sites like Facebook - so once I got to the Mac, I switched over to IShowU, which I'm still using.
I think (it's hard to tell, as there's no way to "peer into" the older casts to get time info) that I've average something like 3 minutes per screencast - which means that there's almost 40 hours of that content online now. Mind you, not all of it is current - I've redone a lot of the older screencasts as the products have evolved, but still - there's a ton of material out there.
I've gotten some nice feedback on this stuff over the years, but I'm always open to more - positive or negative. If you have a suggested topic, I'd love to hear that as well. The goal for these casts is to make it easier for you to learn and explore Smalltalk, so just let me know. Also: given the large archive, searching would be useful, and it turns out we have that. At the top of every page on the main site is a little search box - start there, or just point your browser at the search application itself, which is Web Velocity powered.
