9 to 5 Mac wonders whether this is a meaningful sliip by Bill Keller (editor of the NY Times) in a meeting, where he says in passing:

"I'm hoping we can get the newsroom more actively involved in the challenge of delivering our best journalism in the form of Times Reader, iPhone apps, WAP, or the impending Apple slate..."

The speculation is that it's a real hint, since Keller is on about internal paper stuff, and the Times is one of the organizations Apple briefs on stuff. We'll see soon, I'd guess - if Apple has this in mind, I'd guess they want it out soon - before the hliday season, maybe?
