I've seen a lot of dumb complaints on the net, but Danny Sullivan's for Firefox's search has to be in the top 3 for dumbest ever:
So Firefox 3 has a new release candidate making news, suggesting that the browser is nearly done. May I suggest that the browser is nowhere near being done until the Mozilla Foundation drops its favoritism to Google and allow users to pick their own default search engine? And that Microsoft ought to be among those choices?
A drop down menu is too hard? Should they include a screencast to explain the concept of a drop down box to Danny? How many people would complain if they set no default and search didn't work out of the box?
As to Microsoft, who cares? If you care to add it, there's an option to add engines to the list. Is it a little petty to exclude them? Sure, but so what?
