Dare Obasanjo objects to the half-baked way that LiveJournal does user authentication (i.e., not through standard Http-Auth). This is one of my prime beefs with the Atom posting spec as well - they are busy inventing their very own authentication scheme, for what I consider to be spurious reasons. NIH is everywhere...
