I've now watched the extended Two Towers DVD a few times - after I wrote this. This came to mind while reading this review from Arcterex. Yes, I still think it's an improvement over the teatrical release - but I've decided that I like the way Sam's "The Things that Really Matter" speech went in the teatrical better. The flow just somehow seems better. I'm not sure I can put my finger on it, and - overall - I like the extended DVD better.
