I'm very disappointed to write here that I will be missing JAOO this year. JAOO has become a favorite conference of mine, and I was booked to give a couple of talks this year. However I've been suffering from back pain over the last few weeks - and there are few things worse for back pain than a long flight. Thankfully the JAOO organizers were very sympathetic - and I hope to return in the future. Not just am I sad because I don't like to let a conference down, I'm sad because I'm missing out on a really great program.

I am booked to attend the Øredev conference later this year. I'm hoping that by then my back will tolerate me sitting for more than a few minutes at a time.
