I finished an "old" SciFi novel last night: "Pebble in The Sky" by Isaac Asimov. What a great read. Like the Foundation series, it's dated especially w.r.t. the way it views atomic power, radiation, and other topics nuclear. But what impresses me is that despite that the quality of writing and plot was so much better and simpler than most modern SciFi. It's relatively short. I loved the political background in the story. It was written in 1948, and yet it is so germaine nearly 60 years later.
