Its singles day, so everyone gets to play their first singles match. I come up against a guy called Steve Saxon from WA. A pretty strong player who's been around for a while. At the start of the match, I play very scratchy, and Steve plays well to get off to a 2-0 start. In the third frame I get a bit of luck when Steve accidentally pots the white, so I manage to win the frame. Thats the confidence boost that I need, and Steve never gets back into the match as I reel off another four in a row to win 5-2.

I'm glad thats over and that I got through ok. The rest of the day runs behind schedule, so I won't play again until tomorrow.
