I've been discouraged about the way the Yankees are playing this year (2.5 games back as of today), but then there's always the National League West out there:

That's pretty amazing. Never mind that the first place team is under .500 - the Giants are 13 games under, and they are still in the running! If that's not a sign that major league talent has been spread too thinly, I don't know what is.
