HP announced layoffs of approximately 14,500 people, or 10% of its workforce, today. HP has done this in an effort to cut its operating costs in order to compete with Dell. These layoffs are not the end of the restructuring movement on HP's part, however.
I haven't been following HP that closely these last few years (other than the iTanic initiative), but this definitely sounds painful. Looks like some of those purchase move Fiona made are coming back to haunt HP...
