We went to see "Batman Begins" last night, and it was well worth it. This was the best of the Batman movies that have been made. Part of that was probably Christian Bale - he's able to play "right at the edge" a whole lot better than the previous stars were able to. The plot is the no better than most superhero movie plots - really evil bad guys have to be stopped before they destroy/steal/kill something of value. Never mind that though - this is all about the process Bruce Wayne goes through to become Batman. It's one of the few things I've watched where the flashback segments didn't irritate me - they were all useful.

I also liked Gordon (played by Gary Oldman), who, as it turns out, runs across Bruce at a number of points in his life (including the night when his parents died). All in all, it was a good flick. Highly recommended.
