My team has finished Mac QuickBooks 2007 and it is now available for pre-order on Intuit's website. (Actual availability is October 2.)

I think this is the best version we've done so far. Check out the Demos!

This is the second year we've used a Scrum/custom-Agile process. This year that process helped us make the development, and testing processes even more smooth and high-quality. No major surprises, no major fire-fighting.

Dear Mr. Ray,

QuickBooks is a very useful (and probably to many software developers a boring) application. Though I understand that Intuit may be unwilling to reveal future product directions, is there any kind of SDK to Mac Quickbooks 2007? I would like to encourage small businesses running into MS Windows Quickbooks limitations to consider switching to The Mac.

For example, there was some mention of the use of SQL Lite. It would be great if, within reason, the database being accessed by the Mac application could be customized or centralized and made scalable. I understand the old client model as well as QuickBooks QBXML and use of Web Services. But the client version and web versions of the Windows .NET version still run into Quickbooks database limitations. Example, small businesses that grow fast are running into a limitation with the number of accounts that can be added.

I worked on the original PeachTree financial accounting application on the first Mac as well as the Lisa. That certainly dates me. I am really impressed how far the Mac and this type of utilitarian software has come!

Best Regards,

Nicholas Bessmer
