Dare and Phil are writing about providing constructive criticism and not just ranting and raving like a crazy person.
I absolutely agree. I have said this before to many people. You might get a couple of links and maybe even some chuckles with rant here or there....but eventually people will tune you out. Who wants to read someone's blog who does nothing but whine and complain? What does this really accomplish?
I am definitely not saying you should not point out when and where things suck...I am just saying "MSDN Library staff blew off the left half of their collective brain" does nothing to help the situation. My personal goal in creating weblogs.asp.net was to provide the community with a great resource of .NET information. Constructive feedback would obviously be part of this...but directly mocking and insulting the entire staff of MSDN or any other organization is just a waste of bandwidth...and I am sorry that this resource was used in this way.
